Shawn Staples

Shawn Staples practices in a broad range of complex commercial litigation including breach of contract, commercial torts, patent infringement and insurance litigation.

Shawn was born in Missoula, Montana, but graduated from high school in Angleton, Texas and received his undergraduate education at the University of Houston (B.S. 1987).  He was awarded a graduate fellowship and was admitted to the Ph.D. program in Americal Political Theory at the University of Houston (1987-1989) before attending law school.  He received his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to practice law in 1993.

Mr. Staples is currently admitted to practice before all courts in Texas, the United States Court of Federal claims, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas.

He participates in a variety of professional organizations, including the State Bar of Texas, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Houston Trial Lawyers Association and the Houston Bar Association and is a member of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society.
